Hope you have all had a good week. Mine was ok. I got a little time in the scrap room earlier in the week and spent it making my sister a book so that she should use for her Missy Moo orders and designs. (She loves it! Totally forgot to take photos though so when she emails them i'll post....).
Yesterday I was able to give the special present i've been working on to it's owners. I finished it off late last week and was waiting for the right time to give it. Mainly because a certain person rode his motorbike to work the day I wanted to pass it on..... Anyway, the present was for our friends Nick and Gayle. Nick is my boss and in the past 12 months Shannon and I have spent a bit of time out of work with Nick and now that he has the lovely Gayle in his life we've enjoyed spending time with them as a couple too. I am so happy that he has Gayle. They hit it off the first time they met earlier this year and it's nice to know that he has her in his life. They are such a lovely couple and we're so blessed to have them as friends. And I am so blessed to have Nick as my boss. He has been the most amazing boss, especially this year. He has understood everything I have been dealing with and given me the space, time and support to get through it. And i'm talking both personally and professionally. He's been there for me the whole way through and it's been so nice to know he's had my back, that he still has....
So i've had this on my 'to do' list for some time now and being I am getting back into all my projects I really wanted to cross this one off asap. I have started them off on their own album and plan on adding a layout to it every now and then so that over time we can fill it. I'll make them a layout every now and then in the aim of eventually having a full album of their favourite memories. I know that Gayle is a very sentimental person and while making the album I pictured her sitting in front of the fireplace at home with a glass of wine in her hand and the album on her lap slowly flipping through to reminisce. I wanted to make them something special to say thanks not only for their support this year but also because they are such great friends and we both love having them in our world.
So here are the first lot of layouts......
This is the first layout in the album as you open the cover. I just love this photo of Nick and Gayle! It shows their connection really well. I made a layout similar to this earlier this year and decided to use it with this photo and i'm glad I did as I love how it turned out, especially with the different coloured circles.
This is Gayle's grandaughter Ava - isn't she gorgeous! Note the layout is one of the 'doubles' that I mentioned the other week. I added a photo of Mum and I to mine. This is such a beautiful photo of Ava and it makes this layout 'shine'!
This is Gayle's grandson Ethan. I did this layout at a class over at Paper Flourish last month then made a double for myself with a photo of Shan and I that you would have seen posted earlier. Hasn't Ethan got the most adorable little face!
And this is the card I made for them. I used the Kaiser Chapter One collection for this and the inspiration came from a card that my BSF Alanna made recently. (Thanks Alanna!)
There was another layout and I can't believe I didn't take a photo of it! I guess I was too busy trying to finish it off so I could add it to the album with the rest and totally forgot! The last layout is using a photo of Nick's sons Zeb and Jak. I've posted a photo of them here to fill the gap until the photo of the layout comes through. What a fine bunch of gentlemen these two make. And the layout I made with this photo worked well. I'll post it asap!
Well that's about it for me now. Thanks for looking and have a lovely weekend!
